Television has come a long way since its inception, and entertainment is more accessible today than it has ever been before. Technology has played a large part in the dissemination of this entertainment, so we thought we’d take a look at how the cloud has contributed to making television the cornerstone of leisure that it is today.

The cloud makes the production process easier than ever by providing access to collaborative platforms and spaces for content review, whether it’s in-the-moment adjustments or post-production.
## The Cloud Has Contributed to Film Production
Considering the impressive impact the cloud has had on business, it should come as no surprise that it has also impacted film productions in a considerable way. It was once believed that the cloud could never offer the hosted computing, services, and affordable storage needed for these massive projects, but this is no longer the case. The countless applications needed for film production can all be accessed through the cloud, thereby changing film production forever.
Before cloud computing, capturing film was an analog process, utilizing technologies such as film to capture images and tape to capture sound. It was then spliced and synced through an analog editing process. Nowadays, the process looks much different; it can all be done digitally through virtualized applications in a secure cloud-based environment.
Productions can set up their cloud platform to run their own project management, complete with all of the storage, collaboration, and communication tools they need to succeed. These cloud platforms can also store an immense amount of data, yet production companies will scale their needs accordingly so they are paying the most efficient price for their needs. They have a singular IT infrastructure throughout pre-production, production, and post-production.
